Scott Walker doesn't strike me as an idiot, he's just trying to pander to the Christian right, and cut spending on public programs so he can do more tax cuts for the rich. That's not an embarrassment for the GOP, it's exactly what they want.

Still, it's the coward's way out--as if you can't know that evolution is real because you're not a scientist?
It's the same dodge used by climate deniers--"I'm not a scientist..." Yeah, but you refuse to listen to scientists anyway, so...
This is how the country is cratering--when you've got candidates literally appealing to the most ignorant, uneducated people and now we're engaged in full-on science denial and religious-based delusion because it's become politically acceptable to do so.
And yeah it is embarrassing for the GOP considering that that now means the dumbest people in the room when it used to mean the opposite.

The biggest fear of the religious is accepting that we are not supposed to know all of the answers, something science freely admits. They are afraid of saying "I don't know" when it comes to the meaning of life and what comes after. If he's the front runner, get your Hilary or Elizabeth Warren sign ready. Seriously, tons of conservative movements in other western nations are going to the center and it's working for them, except American conservatives.

Calvinists already know who is going to heaven/hell before the show even gets started
...also, I highly doubt Christians view the Trinity, virgin birth and Resurrection as mysteries. They seem pretty sure that these things are facts, even if their belief is one based on faith. My dad and his family are Catholic, which meant I got to experience Catholic school as a young child. Stations..ugh.

Although I quite liked the stations of the cross. Mass was still more interesting than most classes.
