I don't think there's any way Obama could have ordered Israeli planes shot down. Leaving aside the geopolitical implications, the domestic politics of it would have buried him.

yeah this is completely false. israel didn't bomb iran because they openly admitted they don't have the capabilities to do it on their own. the mission needed all their jets to fly a single sortie, and they weren't reasonably sure they could take out all the targets given those parameters. on top of that, they would have suffered casualties from iranian AA without US fighters doing the hard work and taking them out.

i don't think there's a proper response for something like that, though responding militarily is definitely a last resort kind of thing.

Seems unlikely to me. There was recently an intelligence leak that disclosed that the Mossad believes that Iran is not developing nukes. Bibi's saber rattling is pure propaganda.

One newspaper citing another Kuwaiti paper claiming an unnamed Israeli minister and other "well placed" (also unnamed) persons as the source for this. Hmm, seems lacking when it comes to the vetting process for some reason.
