texas needs a state income tax. thats why property taxes are too high.

Yeah, I was absolutely floored to hear that Texas has us beat at real estate taxes!

This and Kansas's situation give me great joy. Does that make me a bad person?

Not an issue really. Most of these mega-boom cities will reap substantial benefits down the road from economic development so initial debt isn't a problem. Is the proposed tax cuts concerning? Yes, but hopefully they reconsider.

...the economy has a hard time developing when compliance with local ordinance is diminished via a lack of staffing at the local level. Economic development doesn't exist in spite of government efforts to quell it....often times (just look at the preferential treatment given to the MNC's and large domestic conglomerates) the government aids in the process.

This is something the GOP constantly seems to ignore.
