I absolutely agree that we should crack down on businesses who employ them because they aren't paying taxes and they're going unregulated, which is dangerous because OSHA and various other employment security nets don't apply. But really, why is it so bad that people are trying to escape the land with the highest homicide rates on Earth and next to no employment opportunities? If my family was going hungry, you bet your *** I'd hop the border.

Yep, pretty much the illegal part. As people, I generally find them the same as all other people. You know, because of science.

The problem is all about our laws and their choices.

Nothing. Screw you guys who get upset because it's "illegal." The laws surrounding immigration are stupid and un-American. I'll be damned if I'm going to live in an America that turns away hard working people seeking a better life because they just happen to be born in the wrong place. Maybe some people should look in the f**k mirror and ask how someone from a crime ridden village who speaks no english managed to take their job. America is all about competition and quite frankly, if Jose managed to avoid the Zetas, hop the border, and find a job in a country where he cannot legally work or speak the language, he is probably the best man for the job.

Economist actually has a great feature about hispanics in America. Long story short, demographically hispanics are saving this country. 2050 1/4 people will be hispanic, and I'm sure it will be 50% for the important states like Cali, Florida and Texas. Get used to it amigos...America is fundamentally a latin country.

Eh. There's plenty of room man. I say let em all in. More the merrier.

I like room. It is what keeps me sane in a world of terrible, selfish people. Still, I'm not against a much larger legal immigration system. I would prefer, however, a solid migrant worker program. I don't see how these other countries will improve if we don't keep people having strong ties and citizenship in their home countries.

I think we could reach like 500 million and you'd still have room if you wanted it man. It's a big country.

I want those productive people here doing productive things for us. Freedom of movement, etc. That's a fair point though.

Anybody remember back when we took in errybody? And our population swelled? And from that came great economic growth? Anybody remember those days?
