WASHINGTON - The tough military charges against Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl have revived the questions and controversy surrounding President Barack Obama's decision to swap five Taliban detainees to secure his release, as well as the wisdom of the White House fanfare that followed.

To my mind this is Obama's worst decision over the last 6 years of his presidency. Not amnesty, not ObamaCare, Bergdahl is the worst one. This soldier could or could not be a traitor, it doesn't matter. What matters to me is the following - The U.S. Does Negotiate With Terrorists. That's it, the conversation is over. Imagine what will happen when al-Qaeda and their "colleagues" find out they can get 5 (!) top-level terrorists in exchange for one American soldier? Half the Army will go missing

Honestly, we should execute this guy if he really did what the government alleges. This is one of the few times where I think practicality goes out the window. We bring all Americans home no exceptions no qualifiers, but we will shoot you for treason like this even if we had to give up a lot to get you back.

And if this same soldier were featured in a beheading video shown around the world, the OP would be screaming bloody murder that Obama hates the troops and is soft on terrorists and should be charged with treason.
