Corporations started taking over since WW2 mostly. Today its run by money, for money.

Americans feel powerless because they somehow developed the belief that for their lives to get better, "the System" has to change. Everybody has an idea of what's wrong with the system and they're waiting for the other parts of the system to change before they change themselves.

As long as people have their Walmart and reality TV, I'm gonna go with bailouts being the most likely option.
