Whatever one could say we are all racists. Seriously.
What do we think about victims of various disasters, wars or accidents in the East? We just don`t give a f**k. Unlike European people. Or any white people in the world.
Immigrants who died in the Mediterranean Sea, victims of the war in Syria and Iraq, Indian people, black people in Africa...we don`t give a f**k.
But they are people too.

One of the reasons we do that is yes, racism but another is that these things are so far away, relatively speaking.

For instance, you'd think we're all dodging bullets here in Chicago on a nightly basis, what with the "shooting capital of the U.S." tag and all that. Nope. Why? Because all those shootings are concentrated in one area of the city, which is predominately if not exclusively black (or Hispanic).

I would think if we were living side by side and white folk would have to watch the constant death in front of them this wouldn't be tolerated for too long, nor would they think it was so inconsequential once they've had to watch somebody in front of them--more than once.

The one thing I'll grant you is middle easterners--we simply don't care about them because let's be honest--we don't think they're as human as we are.

Probably a lot more subtle racism than people think, this scene covered it well.

I don't get the not carrying about the mid-east thing....we're balls-deep into the mid-east.
