Its really not under the table. Its filed and taxed. Workers just don't get any of the benefits or protections that go with W-2 filers.

Yeah, I'm seeing this more and more. Lots of people at work do four ten hour shifts and then go to freelance for another two or three days of the week depending on how hard up they are.
Work/Life balance is all sorts of f**k up.
