New York Legionnaires' Deaths Rise To Eight, Nearly 100 Sick

Aug 6 The number of deaths from an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease in New York has risen to eight and 97 people were reported sick with it, according to statistics released by Mayor Bill de Blasio's office.

Officials said previously that the outbreak had peaked and they had seen a reduction in the rate of its growth.
To translate, reduction in rate of growth. If you have 10 new cases a day and it goes to 9 new cases a day, that is a reduction in the rate of growth. You are still getting new cases, just not as many new cases.
