You know Medius, originally I was on your side about this but I've changed, and here's why. I recently completed a book about how we're at great risk of somebody taking out our power grid and when it happens the results will be beyond catastrophic.
Without going to much into that, one of the points the author made is that yeah, we all value our privacy/freedom (or pretend to) but if companies are putting out un-crackable encryption that completely masks any tracking of terrorists or criminals... well, we're hamstringing them.
So we kinda have to weight our "YEAH PRIVACY!" protectiveness (which I totally get) with: um, maybe we should strike a balance?
Before anyone starts yes I know how many civil rights violations/infringements have been done under the auspices of "national security" and yes I know (kinda) that "Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."
I'm just saying we should think about striking a balance whereas before I was like "Yay, screw the gov't, go Apple!"
