Sadly, Harvard doesn't realize that it never stops. You give on this and they'll ask for everything. It only ends with Harvard itself being purged from existence. You can't please the warriors. You can either resist them or willingly purge yourself from reality by concession after concession.

I don't understand why this upsets you two so much. The guy was a brutal slaveowner. Her burned people alive. Now I obviously have better shit to do than care about a crest. I guarantee most people, most Harvard students, couldn't remember the crest before all this. But now being aware of what a terrible guy this was, I think it's only natural the school doesn't really want to be involved with that. It's a stupid thing to ask to change but it's also stupid to refuse to and defend such a brutal person to make a point.

The master thing is stupid. Like calling someone master is stupid, as is refusing to use the title because it sounds racist. I honestly think college is too long and these kids get bored.

We'd be hard pressed to find any crest representing anything centuries old that doesn't have a lot of awful associated with it. Because history is awful.

Agree with Saz. To focus any time and energy on petitioning for the crest to be changed is stupid. But once the issue is moved into a spotlight, the only dumber thing one could do is defend it and refuse to make the change. It's inconsequential either way, and only people with nothing better to do could work up the energy to stake out a strong position on either side of this fight.

Who cares? Most of these SJWs bitch about shit everyone learns in high school ie slavery, civil rights issues, colonialism etc. Most of them have no sense of the world outside of the US which is why they complain about obvious first world shit. A guy used a black and white photo of the KKK from the prohibition era to make the point that the KKK is relevant in 2016. They aren't, no one cares about the KKK anymore. They have at best 5,000 members in a country of over 300 million. The Nation of Islam has 50,000 members and has for more influence in the US than the KKK.
