Donal Trump is the result of a couple of decades (or close to) of indoctrination by wacky political commentators such as: Rush, Beck, Hannity, Savage, Levin, etc.
The DNC isn't much better. How liberals can choose Clinton over Sanders is mind-boggling. Trump vs Clinton = American is fvcked!
The only good thing to come out of this election cycle is that people are starting to fight against the establishment. We need more old people to die off, to be replaced by younger more informed citizens.

Or, you get four years of stupid and reactionary executive branch and the political machines lobby for changes in the electoral process - democrats push for a stronger popular vote and republicans push for a better republic style process.

Yeah. If Trump hadn't run, I could imagine Bernie doing much better in the open primaries.

indeed. i saw some exit polls.... demographics wise, bernie kills it in young voters. like close to 90% of people under 30. in open primaries without trump he would have gotten some older folks who are worried about the loss of manufacturing jobs to those Orientals as bernie like trump were the ones who have been consistently against free liberal trade
it's just wrong to think that all the people behind bernie are in it for supposed revolution. look at michigan, where bernie won. if you look at exit polls for dems, like 60% of them said the economy and jobs was their issue, and of those people almost all of them agreed with statements that said "trade hurts america". these people are uneducated and work in low skill jobs and just want that to continue, and they think the way to ensure that is protectionism, even as all economist know that's a dumb f**k idea. it's like the one thing economists agree on, which is partly why the republican and democratic parties, have, since WWII, been pretty much on the same page about it. but bernie and trump? they are populists capitalizing on people's fears
