He said progressives. While I am a progressive on most matters, I do agree that progressives have been giant f**k ups when it comes to process matters. Efforts to make our process more democratic and reform campaign financing have all backfired.

Until the 60's, average citizens had no vote in who the political parties nominated. You can certainly see how much the GOP establishment despises Trump and all that he stands for. What Galt is saying is that without the progressive push to democratize the nomination process, Trump would never have stood a chance to be the nominee.
