i think "one person one vote" is obnoxiously unconstitutional and a disgusting abuse of federal power over what is a state issue. not only that it's bad policy and stupid

my point of contention goes further than that, on the basic principle. i think states should be able to appropriate the legislative districts in any way they wish.

well naturally professor and galt would support easier ways to gerrymander.

i do not support gerrymandering. i don't support it so much i am against one person one vote

consider. the following state has two representatives and one big city, the rest is industrial interests. there are 60% of the population in the city, 40% in all other areas. The picture on the left, which 60% is on one side and 40% is on the other, is not gerrymandered. The other one is gerrymandered, splitting the vote so "one person one vote" leads to only the city interest trumping everything



states should be able to decide what they want

Instead of eligible voters it should be registered voters. If you don't care enough to register, don't be represented.
