iraq was such a f**k why do israel and the united states think iran is just a huge pushover.

I think Israel sees all of this as a prelude to a true existential crisis via Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran in Syria. We're along for the ride because Pompeo and Bolton aren't huge fans of Iran and never have been. But I'm sure Trump country will be all about invading Iran...after Trump said he wanted to get out of these conflicts in the ME and literally months after he tried to get the ball rolling on pulling out of Syria altogether.

Maybe we'll just launch more meaningless missiles? Who knows. But by pulling out of the JCPOA we are isolating ourselves and leaving the rest of the world to negotiate with Iran. We are sidelining our foreign policy world wide.

Israel attacked a base in Syria and suspected missile launch sites. Has called up intelligence officers and other spec ops forces but not yet started to draft from reserves. US embassy requires anyone going to Golan Heights to acquire special pass.

Iran and Israel need each other too much. They both drive their respective agendas by declaring the other literally Satan on a continuous basis. And they both know that any serious shooting war would drag in the big players, and they'd lose control of the situation. Right now they can posture and declare. Neither wants this to get real.

War may be coming to the mid east. Yeah, since biblical times, and before.
