yeah they have totally lost their way, and yes, i think it was really an effect from the lack of amateurs. in other words, money corrupted the games

and it's fine if the games are a big celebration, but we should look at having a singular continental/hemisphere host site for each games and rotate that, with one country being the actual host nation, and another "host" putting on the majority of the programming (like the cultural aspects) and getting the extra qualifiers who can compete. just seems like a waste to make these venues and not use them later
