Foreigners also amazed we don't have a single payer healthcare system and it's the 21st century.

We do require identification; the controversy is over picture identification because the destitute don't typically own a drivers license or state ID.
Canada allows you to vote without a picture ID, too. You can even get your neighbor to vouch for you as proof. Not sure where you're getting your information.
Switzerland and other countries automatically send you a ballot each election cycle after you register with the government when you turn 18. Not comparable.

i just voted an hour ago here in PA
in the signature book next to my name it said "identification required" so i told the lady "i didnt think i had to show ID, that it isnt mandatory yet" and she said "fine then just sign the book". i stopped and said "no, i have my drivers license and a recent utility bill with my name and address", and she replied "i really dont care just sign the book"
to be fair, the other old lady said that only about 250 people voted at this polling place last year and that i was almost number 600 on the day with almost 4 hours left to go. and none of them looked to be under 70 year old so i guess they were just overwhelmed and disoriented
i could probably go back there at least 2 or 3 more times before it closes tonight and vote again, just pretending im various other people in my apartment building. i doubt theyd notice
