Voters in Puerto Rico have supported a non-binding referendum to become a full US state.
The measure will require approval from the US Congress, but President Barack Obama has said he will respect the vote.

Let's slow this down a second. PR has 3 million + population. So aside from 2 new senators that's also a bunch of congressional seats and electoral votes. Something tells me politics may obstruct admission to statehood.
