it sounds like you want to co-opt the small community of this forum to grow your own forum. which, and i may be wrong, you want to have its own brand (that's what i gather from the name).

i'm getting 80s hostile takeover vibes more than i am venture capitalist ones from this to be honest.

If you go around the net looking at other politics forums, you will notice that this place is pretty unique in it's values and community standards. People here generally look down upon the tired and nasty old cliches of political debate that have come to define a lot of online political discussion. If you're planning to merge this forum with another existing one, I think it would be in our best interest to get a look at who our new roommates are first.

The idea is to move this forum over to mine and grow it from there. That's why I mentioned the word "merge".

If this all were to work out, then I'd see it more reasonable to take my already built forum and merge it here. It already has VB, hosting,etc,etc.

As opposed to switching this forum completely over to a new license.

Furthermore, I think it may be best, if we were to switch the name of both forums, to show a new day and a brighter future.

Yeah, if there is a merger we cannot keep that name. As I was afraid, it's a conservative leaning site. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, but I think the website should have no slant. The would "patriot" or versions of it will bring in most conservative voices and I'm afraid that in that scenario we'd end up with non-conservative voices censored as tends to happen in these places (the same is true of the reverse, btw).

Our name here indicates no built in bias. That is not to say the site may no lean one way or another, maybe reflective of the internet political waves at the time, but that the website name itself is wholly unbiased. "Patriotic" will bring in conservative posters in large qualities versus other posters much like a website using "progressive" would bring in liberal ones to the detriment of non-liberal voices.

I recommend, if we don't keep this name, a non-biased forum name.


Also, correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like you recently created that forum and are looking to buy this one to buy us, the members, to build up the site? yes?

Also, we're looking to build this forum along with my current forum up together.
