Yeah, that was me "as a poster". As a mod, I'd be different. Not that I really want to be, I just think I'd do an OK job. But, Menson has the chops for it, far more than me.
Honestly, one thing that I wouldn't stand for would be personal insults. I remember great threads from back in 2004 where we debated the GWB re-election. I never remember getting insulted. Heck, even during the PPACA debates, I don't remember it much. It's much more recent.
I don't mind a "I disagree with you, and here's why" post. But, when the post is, "You're an idiot, and here's why", I would do something about it.
I think I'd also have to do something about posts like "the GOP is _______", unless you happen to be talking about the actual party itself (that group of people in a building in DC that raises money and runs campaigns). If you're making a blanket statement about everyone who voted Republican in the last election, then it's obvious stereotyping.
On second thought, you probably don't want me doing this.
