Would it be possible to number posts? If you don't want to quote yourself or someone else but are responding to a comment a ways back it would be great if you could just say whatever number post it was. You can't even say what page people can go look at to find the post your referencing as people are using different posts-per-page settings.

Point: more efficient than requiring posters to quote posts.

Counter-point: less efficient because readers will have to jump back to X number post for context.

pro: more work for galt

con: the more time galt spends on the computer, the less he spends recklessly endangering himself in the real world

You can do this already (kind of). Above each post there is a hyperlink. The URL that is generated has a unique identifier with it assigned to that post.
