What the war game demonstrates is that technological superiority does not always equal success on the battlefield, especially against a smart enemy with a decent understanding of your capabilities.
Iran has been focusing on asymmetrical warfare for at least a decade. They have been incredibly successful at it, slowly refining their methods and gaining alot of experience from training and observing Afghan and Iraqi resistance. And, in the event of an invasion, they will have access to Russian military intelligence.
The US military machine could defeat Iran easily if the human, political and economic costs didn't matter... but they do. And the Iranian government is well aware of that and will plan accordingly.
