Re-engineering society.

Three axioms upon which a viable worldwide revolutionary consensus can be enacted:

"I. Every person born on Earth is an equal co-heir of the commonwealth of Earth.

II. No social policy is legitimate unless it has the full consent and agreement of every person affected by it.

III. Voluntary cooperation for mutual benefit is the most efficient and satisfactory basis for all economic and social relations."

If we are to engineer a society in which both the freedom and autonomy of the individual and the good of the community as whole are maximized these axioms are a good starting point. If we are to move forward from our current stage of development we must have a solid foundation upon which to build. What are some of you guys ideas for engineering the superior society of the future?

If individuals are to exist separately, yet in proximity to one another a system of protocols must be in place to avoid disorder. Society's ancient protocols are dissolving from under our feet as society is transformed from the latest stages of human prehistory into the first stages of transhumanism.

The first step is going to be the revolution in communications. With the recent development of neural implants that allow biological organsims to literally "share thought", we need to start working this stuff out.

The ability to manipulate society ie "politics" is of no consequence unless the ability is harnessed to a worthy goal.

I question the wisdom behind the imposition of the profit motive as the primary goal for human society. Surely it has up to this point been an effective way to marshal the social forces that are at play in human society to achieve distinct short term goals and lay the foundations upon which the future will be built. But I find it tends to ignore long term concerns of vast importance in pursuit of immediate gratification of society's short terms goals.

This is beginning to lead to massive social problems as our traditional social systems reach obsolescence and our society becomes more and more focused on conspicuous consumption by the individual as an indicator of social status and thusly the individual is held in thrall to an insidious form of commodity fetishism/social alienation. Which in turn leads to all of the social ills that are prevalent in our cultural milieu.
