They had a legal expert on WGN this morning and he was saying that while the move was politically splashy, it's going to be a tough sell in court, getting them to uphold you not paying the legislature for not voting the way you want them to.
I like the principle; you may recall I've suggested a few times that the only way Americans will ever reform Washington is to stage a tax revolt where nobody pays on April 15th--now the gov't will HAVE to listen since they'll have no money (listen to OUR money at least).
Only problem is (or is it?) that we're apparently split down the middle between those tea party people and everybody else. Although I'm starting to wonder if that's an illusion too.
So while the revolt would sound great in theory, once that change was demanded, whose "change" would it be? We'd all have to agree on that first. And the media in this country thrives on perpetuating the idea that there's two opposing forces in this country who can't agree on anything.
