What if Snowden isn't the real spy?

Sure Snowden took some top secret stuff, but what if the Russians intended to capitalize on the fact that the US doesn't know what he stole to steal more stuff? What if the actual Russian spies are the investigators? With Snowden on the loose the US is hiring investigators to determine the extent of Snowden's damage. But because they need to investigate they actually have higher level access. What if they are spies and are dragging the investigation to gain more and more access to supply information to Russia?

Our shit is riddled with all kind of foreign agents and we do very little to stop or prevent any of it.

Why should we worry about someone who essentially felt guilty for the crime he was helping the government commit and fessed up? I'm more worried about the people who are after him. That's who scares me. Snowden seems like he would be a good neighbor or something, they seem like megalomaniacs.

Russia doesn't even want the guy because he is of no intelligence value whatsoever. All he knows about is spying on US citizens, which is totally useless to other governments. They know all about what our government does already so that is nor revelation to them.

Ultimately I think Snowden will be exonerated and the people that are complicit in government wrongdoing will be prosecuted and held accountable for their crimes. There are records somewhere that detail everything. I'm sure they will be exposed at some point. You can't hide that kind of shit forever.
