Not going to find any data to support this. But, I was talking with the CEO of (insert insurance company name here - no, I won't say which one) which provides health insurance here in Louisiana. In fact, they are one of the providers chosen to administer the Medicaid program. For-practically-ever, Louisiana has ranked 49th or 50th in overall health and healthcare (most measurements: access, outcomes, etc.).
However, this CEO told me a startling fact. When broken down by race, Louisiana ranks either 24th or 26th in these measurable categories for whites, and 49th-50th for blacks. There is a similar breakdown when broken into income ranges (though he didn't have the ranges memorized). Basically, if you are white and/or middle-income, you can expect to receive healthcare on par with the rest of the US. If you are black and/or low-income, you can expect to receive the worst.
I hope that this kind of information is made public and gets some attention.
