Expose Carson or Trump to the realities of a general election and their appeal across multiple demographics disappears. Almost overnight. Carson and Trump have both solidified their contention for less educated white males - and that's about it.
Hillary would slaughter them in a general - even if she's a sith lord. Do you want women to come out in droves in support of Hillary? Trump would do that in an instant.
