The GOP debate was unnerving. The candidates spewed fire and brimstone and the audience largely loved it.

Trump was an asshole.

Rubio glitched out and relied too heavily on ultra-conservative mantras that come across as forced.

Cruz was aggressively creepy and unfunny and was legitimately frightening at times. He appears to be truly evil.

Kasich was weirdly friendly and giddy. Knowledgeable but deeply unpresentable.

Bush looked like an awkward man against the ropes, but it worked at times.

Carson makes me feel relaxed and soothed, but I still have no clue what he is saying, ever.

All in all, it was good, old fashioned American fun and I am eager to see the results of NH. Trump's numbers there have been buoyant, and his performance in this debate has been largely discussed as a success. I think the smart money is on him. Independents being permitted to vote will hurt Trump though. A big percentage of voters are independents and we really don't know who they will vote for, but Trump's net favorability rating is damn low with independents so I'm guessing this will cut into his lead. Look for Rubio and Cruz to both increase their lead against what polls show now, and likely Jeb as well.

So I didn't get to watch it live, but I got to see a few snips of it. I understand some of the lower candidates would like to become part of the mainstream, but I don't get how or why Christ Christie went after Marco Rubio time and time again. The way he went after him talking about how hes not fit for president, when in reality not a single one of those guys are ready is astounding. To think Christie thinks Trump, Jeb, Carson or others have enough experience blows my mind. I actually prefer there to be less experience, which is why I never jumped on the Obama was only a city organizer or whatever. We just need good people, they don't have to be a governor for 40 years before they run for president.

Literally, in a general election vs Hillary or Bernie, Rubio is the only logical choice at this point. Trump wont win because he has alienated too many people either intentionally or unintentionally. Carson has lost is touch and is way out of touch. Cruz wont win enough states and he talks like a preacher, which is just creepy. Christie is polling like less than 1% across the board, gtfo.

I can't listen to any of them. They are all pretty awful. If I had to pick? Rubio seems the least likely to go full tinfoil hat if he got into office. But none of this matters. I think Trump is going to end up going 3rd party and completely f**k over the Republicans on this election, giving the Dems and easy win.

Oh and I don't think Trump will be on the ballot come November. He might publicly toy with the idea and maybe run for a while though.

Trump would be better than Rubio.
