trump has signaled the end of the republican party as we know it. the younger generation of republicans is much more socially liberal than their parents and the modern republican party doesn't offer them much. the libertarian party, or a republican party that steals their platform, is going to be the new right party.

Over the years the Dems and Reps have basically flip flopped on what they stand for. Could be we are ready for a serious third party contender. Probably to late this election cycle though.

I've seen Johnson pulling as much as 12% in national polls. 15% could get him to the debates.
Is Johnson pulling more support away from typical Democratic or Republican voters?
If Democratic, is he at risk of losing ground soon as Sanders begins to indicate he's winding down his campaign and will inevitably endorse Clinton?
Is there anything about him that's an absolute deal breaker for the Romney crowd, and if not, would it have made more sense for them to get behind him instead of pushing that David French guy that no one knows or cares about?

Maybe the GOP should split into 3 parties:
-Good 'Ol Boys Club: the big business wing
-Randriods: get your hands off my stuff wing
-Party of Christ: self explanatory wing

Good ol boys club would just join the Dems
Randroids are too inconsequential for their own party
Party of Christ is basically the Trump wing, but old age and type 2 diabetes will make them pretty insignificant within a few more election cycles.
Looks like we're headed for a one party system.
