even running an urban marathon like the twin cities, half the time there's no one along the route. well maybe not half, but there's a good chunk where you're able to piss on some trees without someone standing and staring at you, everyone else is just running on by. other areas around intersections have hundreds of spectators although of course there's a ton more at the end. and yeah, maybe to get into the area directly around the end they can have some form of security but elsewhere? there is no way. in fact almost everything in your life that you are at is a soft target.
