I have a healthy fear of Islam the political ideology, yes. For very logical and rational reasons. Of course it's easy to be tolerant from half a world away when you have no personal experience of it and the consequences are only rarely felt.
And I wouldn't say muslims fear and hate christians, propaganda about "crusaders" nonwithstanding. They have far more respect for "people of the book" as they call them than secularists, areligious, agnostics, atheists or "pagans". They often have the same views on many social issues after all, especially overlapping on their obsession with controlling sexuality. The muslim counterpart in this scenario would be Occidentalophobic, specifically all "Western" mores and morals not based on religion.

I've already gone into the very obvious differences between muslim immigration to the US and muslim immigration to Europe elsewhere on the forums. Not only in total numbers (there's more muslims in the UK alone, and that's counting the 1/4th of American muslims who are African-American converts and their descendents from the 60's and 70's), but social class, ethnicity and geographic concentration. Muslims in the US come from a ridiculously wide variety of countries. In Europe they are broken down along ethnic lines much more clearly. Pakistanis in the UK, Turks in Germany, Maghrebins in France, etc. And they are all of the same religious denomination, lest we forget the very present divisions within Islam itself.This alone prevents the sort of social, cultural and political integration that is possible in the US. That's not even getting into how much larger the barrier to immigration is in the US, and how muslim immigrants are more a symptom of the classic American Brain Drain than anything else. Muslim immigrants to the US are very well represented in high paying, prestigious and academically demanding positions, and were often part of the economic "elite" in their own native lands.

It was just an amusing bit of hypocrisy. Its just kinda irritating that you can call someone a racist for holding people to a similar standard...or for not doing so. Love the whole damned if do or don't stuff.
