I think the social sciences derive most of their material from observation and experimentation.
Saying that is like saying archaeologists (a branch of social science) only interpret the fossil record and that the theory of evolution is an opinion.
in other words, blatant anti-intellectualism, just exactly as robot pointed out.

Since archaeology actually is a branch of the social sciences, then according to spider it's findings are interpretive and thus only opinions.
