the strike isn't, but then again you aren't simply talking about the strike. you brought up student performance as if it was some useful metric in determining the legitimacy of the strike or teacher pensions/wages/benefits in general.

passing remark?
you tied the performance of students directly to whether or not the teachers deserve their pay a la merit pay. so either you're just throwing out random talking points or you're implying that teachers, and by extension the union, are at least partially at fault for this failing.
