What needs to happen:
1) Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel need to sit down and discuss what needs to be done, then announce their plans to the world.
2) The rest of the world initiates polite golf-claps, wishes them well on their endeavors, then turns the TV on to watch football*.
(* - Notice what I did there? "Football" - it works on multiple levels.)

Kind of makes you wonder - has Obama called up Assad on the phone in the past couple of weeks? Kind of seems like a good thing to do.

Here's what needs to happen to ensure that US interests are preserved no matter who wins and look like the good guys at the same time.
1. Send in volunteer doctors and offer to heal both sides.
