Trying to compare a bunch of ignorant primitives from thousands of years ago to the modern world and considering what they thought or said about whatever back then as though it has any relevance at all to the developed modern world we live in, where we take an active interest in leaving behind antiquated thought....just makes no damned sense.
What other lessons should we be taking from the addled musings of some camel ranger from the ancient fertile crescent? Perhaps he can give us his take on interracial marriage? Surely we'd give him just as much credit on that score.
