I hope that, after we do this (which it appears we will), that the UN votes to sanction the US.

The best way to ensure that Assad will no longer use chemical weapons is to give them no reason to use chemical weapons. If Assad was supplied with Abrams Tanks and Aero drones he would have no need to use Sarin.

Foreign policy wise, IMO, this pretty much blows.. I'm tired of playing baby-sitter to the world.. Obama should just mind his own business ..

Politically though this is a 'interesting', 'fascinating', maybe even brilliant move by Obama..

This will split the GOP right down the middle.. On one side there are the McCains and old GOP guard who will happily bomb anyone.. On the other side there are the TP people who A) like Ron Paul's stance which is to not get involved over seas, and B) the GOP people who never want to agree with and/or back Obama on anything.. Obama laid this right into the GOP's lap..

September is gonna be a fun month in DC..

My guess is that the US will go ahead with an air strike, because both the Democrats and the Republicans are trigger happy. In American politics, a Democrat is a war hawk who supports gay marriage, while a Republican is a war hawk that opposes gay marriage.
