Well, suspension isn't the answer. All that does is get the kids out of the classroom. Some even try to get suspended just for that reason.

But I think reducing penalties isn't really an answer, so I agree with you.

The bottom line is that these activities need to be discouraged, but you can't just start slamming kids with punishment. That only fosters resentment. They need mentors.

The fact is they have gone way overboard trying to control every aspect of people's lives.

When I was in high school students had a smoking area. What's wrong with that? Now they want everyone to wear uniforms and shit. It's ridiculous.

Why would cursing or skipping class warrant a suspension. That's almost the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Your punishment for not going to class is...being told not to go to class? Derp.
