People go on about Palestinians being oppressed by the Israelis (Who are facing 'genocide') But where's the outrage for a non-Muslim minority being persecuted for their beliefs, their women being enslaved and used as brides, and whole villages and towns destroyed. Hypocritical.
That's an
actual genocide in the making, I don't see the Israelis wiping out the West Bank or Gaza of Palestinians, despite their actions (Or how much they might want too)
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014 ... ugees-iraqI think we should take the Yazidis and bring them to the UK and US. They would make a good contribution to our societies, they clearly cannot go back to their place in Iraq, so we should give them all asylum.

Everytime I see this point being made, it makes me want to drive to Sarnia, cross the border, apply for citizenship, live in the US for years, get my citizenship, buy a handgun, and finally shoot myself in the head.
For one, what do you mean "where is the outrage?" The entire f**k world is outraged. Have you looked at the news? Have you talked to anybody about this issue at all?
For two, Israel will almost certainly wipe out the West Bank within thirty years, it just isn't stupid enough to do it so blatantly. Instead it will just keep on building settlements and creating refugees, which it will then cull every now and again.
For three, as Comrade pointed out, it is possible to care deeply about more than one thing.
So, and I realize this is a stretch, but if you care about me at all, you will stop trying to make this point, because it is making me hate humanity far more than usual, which in turn is directly increasing the likelihood of becoming an American solely to buy a handgun to shoot myself with.

Non used to care. Non's been saying we should offer the religious minorities and secular communities of Iraq refuge in the US for years. Non even wrote his congressman and senator. Everyone ignored Non.
Now Non doesn't care so much.
