Appears that he's gonna stay on til a successor is confirmed, indicating this isn't scandal-driven but it still comes as a big shock, especially with only a little over 2 years left in Obama's presidency.

Hmm, well, the Times now reporting that Holder has previously said he would leave by the end of 2014 so maybe not a shock. In fact he may be staying longer than intended if he's really gonna wait for the next AG to be confirmed.

I can't think of many AGs that have stayed on for two presidential terms. Though, I agreed with him on not wanting to enforce the DOM act, but that's about it. He was highly partisan, and needed to go.

Good. He ran the second most corrupt AG's office in US history. Nixon's boys getting the gold.

I think he's done a pretty good job. The corruption stuff was more a rabid opposition leaping on any hint of red meat they could find, which will happen to anyone if the circumstances make it so.

Holder didn't do much except make Obama's job harder by race-baiting and being unlikable. He did nothing to further regulate the banks which should have been a higher priority.
