It's not whacky nonsense, you are just ignorant of the importance of the idea. It's a well known concept developed by one of the greatest minds in history. Peter Kropotkin, a zoologist, evolutionary theorist, geographer, scientist, and political philosopher developed this idea and supported it with numerous examples of empirical evidence from the disciplines he was versed in and it is now generally accepted as fact at the highest levels of academia. You, I, the homeless guy, Bill Gates, and Sargon the Great all contributed about the same thing to human society. To say otherwise is on par, intellectually speaking, as claiming that one bird in a flock contributed more to the flock than the others. Or one ant produced more than the other.
It's a supposition that is logically supported by empirical evidence. That's why you can think of a valid logical argument to counter the proposition and have to resort to specious deflection instead.
And that is the last I have to say to YOU on the subject.
