To be fair, when bush was in office, there were quite a few people saying that he was worse than aq.

Fox seemed to embraced it, they welcomed it, they didn't question it.. But maybe that's just me..

It just goes back to my point about how polarized we are.. How divided we are, and most of that division is all about politics.. Here we have a very conservative network, and very conservative ex-politician who in the past cheered and celebrated profiling, and wire taps, and heavy-handed state security, etc.. But now? They are outraged simply because of politics..

We the people can't be any dumber.

And just to further my point, the guy who wrote the 2001 law in the Patriot Act that provides the legal authority for the NSA to collect phone records, Rep.Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), AND even though the NSA has been snooping and collecting phone records since 2006 NOW Sensenbrenner has a problem with what's going on..

You just CAN NOT make this stuff up..

like obamacare, no one knew what they were signing when they signed the patriot act. i agree with pelosi that laws would need to be implemented before we grok the full horror of what was passed, they are just so massive with so many pieces its hard to see them in context with everything else.

now it's implemented we can see the folly of government having broad authority intrusive on citizen's lives. instead of taking the opportunity for criticizing people and calling them hypocrites for their initial support, you should be applauding them for changing their minds once they realize what they wrought. it's just another example of extreme huge pieces of legislation that no one reads and is incomprehensible to read even if you tried (unlike all the states outside of massachusetts, they only do things like "replace the word "the" in the second sentence of XX statute, whereas most everyone just republishes the entire section so you can see it in context. this is why it's nearly impossible to read US federal laws) and why we need to pare back this out of control federal government

yeah the one guy introduced it. that means nothing and we all know that. and also in his defense he says that it's not legal under the patriot act

Mr.Bill, I would be happy to use a link that everyone would accept with authors and quotes from someone we all agree with.

But there aren't any.

So in this age under this format, links are required to support one's opinion, but it only works so long as the evidence or claim is accpeted.

They all suck. I know it, you know it.

What to do?

Do we like this surveillance of all? or is it ok because this guy was a jerk in the past and no doubt will be in the future.

I'm pretty sure that any link you pull up, someone will complain about.
