I knew he was an empty shell of a pretend liberal and said so at the time. That Obama is now ruling the surveillance apparatus that he criticized when ruled by W ("candidate Barack Obama decried the privacy invasions of the Bush surveillance program in 2007, saying it put 'forward a false choice between the liberties we cherish and the security we provide.'”) cannot be peddled by those wishing to minimize the egregious abuses and to become apologists for state power as the fault of "liberals" who believed Obama's rhetoric and mistook him for actually being liberal or progressive.
