The same way they did before they invented corn syrup. Just make regular syrup. Sugar+water.

Classic pecan pie does not have corn syrup in it.
It tastes better. Its the same reason pop tastes better with normal sugar. Corn syrup is just bad. Tastes inferior, and is worse for health on a chemical basis. Its a relatively new development. Pecan pie had been around for a lot longer...not that it matters much to me. That stuff is just too damn sweet.

The pecan pie Im used to uses Karo corn syrup as its base, its absolutely delicious.
