Where is the proof? The facts of the case stand. Unless the prosecution can PROVE THEM FALSE, they remain facts and he walks. My god here:

A witness to the confrontation just prior to the shooting stated that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and punching him, while Zimmerman was yelling for help. This witness, who identified himself as "John", stated that "the guy on the bottom, who had a red sweater on, was yelling to me, 'Help! Help!' and I told him to stop, and I was calling 911".[149] He went on to say that when he got upstairs and looked down, "the guy who was on the top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point."

Proof for number 4:

The Volusia County medical examiner found that Martin was killed by an injury resulting from a single gunshot to the chest, fired at "intermediate range," between 1 and 18 inches according to a forensic expert.[141][Note 3] An FDLE analysis of Martin's body and clothes described the distance as "a contact shot".

Unlike some here, I don't come to a conclusion and try to bend the facts of the case to fit it. I take known facts and then analyze them, and only THEN come to a conclusion. Now hell, I could be wrong, but I doubt I am. I just do NOT see how 12 people can see this case as a cut and dry murder. I mean that pic of Zim all beat to shit makes this an open and shut case to me. But who knows.

IMO it's a longshot that Zimmerman gets charged with second-degree murder as I do not see the prosecution as having the level of evidence required to get that charge. Could be a situation like Casey Anthony where they try and get too much than they can prove in court. It all hinges on 2 things. One, if the court considers a member of the neighborhood watch following a "suspicious" individual as starting the confrontation and secondly, who started the actual physical confrontation between the 2 men. IMO even if Zimmerman was following Martin to notify the police of his movements, that does not constitute aggression. If Trayvon did indeed throw and land the first punch in the altercation, which will be decided in court, that may be sufficient enough for Zimmerman's claim of defense, particularly in a state that has stand your ground.
