Police - protect, serve, detain, shoot dog

I can't figure out why they arrest the guy... that being said, I don't think these cops are really eager to shoot it. The dog approaches at least two or three times, and shots aren't fired until he lunges at one of them.

The cops should be charged with wrongful arrest and detainment, but shooting the dog was clearly an act of self-defense.

What is it with cops shooting dogs? Jeez there has been like a wave of that.

I guess it's just a part of the new reality.

They even shot a guy around for a shooting a pit bull that was in his yard. They tried to grab the guys gun afterward and he refused to give it up so they shot him. Some like 60 year old middle class guy protecting his grand children from a pit bull someone let run loose and the cops shot him.

If they don't watch it they are going to lose support from the general law abiding public doing stuff like that.

Its Hawthorne PD (part of LAPD) so Im not surprised. Heck if Torrance PD (also part of LAPD) could shoot up the wrong car with innocent people inside of it during the hunt for Chris Dorner then this is chickenfeed.

That's disgraceful. Ffs how much training have these cops had? None? Rule 1 of basic things to do if the guy you have just arrested has a dog - make sure the dog is securely locked away. If you haven't done this then it is completely your fault for the dogs death.

And what was that guy arrested for? He literally seems to have done nothing wrong, he's been arrested and then had his dog shot and killed. Then you get police wondering why they aren't respected in certain neighbourhoods.

This guy deserves to lose his job. Absolutely appalling.
