I'm not sure about the psychology of all this, that if you hand over gobs of cash to politicians they'll start behaving.

Here's what makes people behave: consequences. Like jail. That usually does the trick. Have laws and have somebody who can actually enforce them enforce them (i.e., don't let Congress set the funding for regulatory agencies).

As I've said before, we regulate professional sports here to the strictest degree, yet when it comes to our country it's a shit show.

Well there you go Charai NOW we are onto something. You are 100% correct. I'm not sure the paying-them-more solution will work because as you say, the money they seek is for re-election, election, etc.

What's insidious about it now with the dark money is that politicians are told if you don't front our agenda we will finance the shit out of your opponent, removing you.

It's not unlike how the Mexican drug cartels control that country's leaders--you can take the money or you can take the bullet. Here we just offer them political death.

So clearly what's screwing up everything is... money. The question is, how do you take that out of the equation? The obvious answer would be public financing. Yet you have the entire plutocratic base here and there MSM accomplices somehow convincing their flock that money is "free speech" and to curtail money is to trample the 1st Amendment, which is laughable.

It's ironic that American gov't hasn't been taken over by some foreign force using military means--it's a domestic force using checkbooks.

When politicians understand that they are answerable to the people and not to the special interests we will restore a semblance of democracy. But right now their cash trumps our voices, and that is perverted.

It also doesn't help that they control the media. Which is the other huge problem.
