damn there is a whole lot of wisdom in this thread, you guys have just about covered it all:
-the need for smaller LEO budgets sans drug enforcement.
-the generation gap regarding LEO
-the benefits financial institutions reap from laundering money
-the counseling scam(s)
-the money generated through property seizure
-the private prison industry/lobby
I don't think I have anything to ad, aside from ending the drug war would close a couple judicial carved loop-holes in the 4th amendment.
