However, the Dems aren't much better.
As I've stated before, during a state Democratic caucus meeting, I heard a Democrat actively oppose a "mixed income housing program" which would have gotten rid of 50's-era housing projects (cinder-block, medium-rise buildings with apartments for low-income families) in favor of 2-unit condos built in a neighborhood-type setting. Why? Because such a program would dilute the Democratic voting bloc that keeping low-income families in high-density projects created.
In other words, don't let families move into better houses and neighborhoods because it'd make it harder for Dems to get elected.
Yet, Dems still voted for that person.
