Because, all criticism of muslim theocrats and social conservatives is obviously motivated by racism. Haven't you been paying attention? The revolution in Egypt and Morsi in power was about creating a magical utopia of shared wealth and common ownership of resources, nothing to do with religion at all.

US interests in a country stem from THE COUNTRY, not from who runs it. in case you've forgotten we were big fans of overthrowing governments. even ones we had supported in the past. so long as conditions in the country remain to our liking ANYONE can be the leader.

mubarak was our puppet. morsi was our puppet. now the military regime is our puppet. or will be. it's been, potentially, too early for any real negotiating and state department machinations. though this is assuming we weren't in communication with the military all along.
