No they need to get rid of SWAT type units. They are a bunch of local retards playing army and are completely unecessary. When some half ass town mayor can call out the local SWAT team because of what amounts to a personal feud this shit is WAY out of line.

The whole situation is ridiculous. We quite simply don't need to be locking half the population up or militarized police over trivial bullshit like a fraction of a the population ingesting recreational drugs occasionally.

Hmmm - perhaps y'all are right. We should get rid of swat teams. That way, when some nutcase with an armload of semi-auto, high-powered rifles, a dozen pipe bombs, a half-dozen handguns, and several thousand rounds of armor-piercing bullets decides to go on a rampage, taking hostages, we can just send in the police with their 9mm pistols to "get 'im".

And, no. I'm not making some blanket statement condoning all actions of SWAT teams. I'm saying that they have their place. And, so long as drugs are illegal and those dealing drugs typically have a small arsenal at their disposal, we need them. Get rid of the former, and then, and ONLY then, can we rid ourselves of the latter.
